Born to Cuban parents, Maria Esther Aleman was raised in New Jersey. As a child, Maria was very influenced by art and music and studied piano at the National Guild for 8 years.
At the age of 15, she worked at her Godmother's party supply store where she created amazing wedding accessories. When her twin sister got engaged, she designed her wedding trosseau and realized there were very few couture quality accessory companies in New Jersey. Maria's focus on the wedding business was reborn. She was determined to be part of it and make it better.
In 1996, she launched her first bridal accessory collection under Marivi Atelier Collection at the Las Vegas Bridal Expo for the trade only along with famous wedding designer, Monique Lhuillier who was also launching her first bridal collection. It was very well received by retailers and magazine editors. Selling to over 500 stores in the United States and International, her accessories have been featured in well known magazines such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Instyle Weddings Magazine, Brides and much more.
In 1999, she decide to open her bridal store in Montclair, New Jersey. Her designs as well as other featured bridal designs were sold at the store. It was then, where she met Teresa Giudice from the Real Housewives of New Jersey and designed her wedding for her. MariVi was well received in the New Jersey area as she was known for her originality and European sense of style giving the bridal industry to New Jersey Brides a new look. She exclusively designed for over 100 brides her first year in business.
In 2004, she sold her business and decided to move to Miami, Florida where she resides today with her dog "Jersey".
In 2009, she launched The Sassy Shop Girl Events to help women succeed in their dreams. Maria is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological condition characterized by impairments in social, communicative and behavioral development. The severity of autism varies over a spectrum and is more than three times as common in boys. Whites are diagnosed at higher rates than African-Americans or Hispanics.
One of every 94 children in New Jersey has autism, the worst rate among the states tested in the most comprehensive study of the disease. The results already have sparked a debate over whether the findings are due to environmental factors or better detection methods.
In New Jersey, the study included nearly 30,000 children in Essex, Union, Hudson and Ocean counties and found the rate to be 10.6 cases of autism per 1,000 children (or 1 in 94), compared to an average of 6.6 per 1,000 (1 in 152) children overall.
The statistics are even worse for boys where New Jersey's rate is 16.8 per 1,000 (1 in 60) compared to girls (4 in 1,000), according to the study
